Examples of my writing/editing work

Along with my editing experience, I’ve also had several opportunities to write.

In all of the following videos, I was both the editor and voiceover script writer. Since I was also coordinating the sourcing of footage used in these stories, I also would be considered the “producer” on these as well.

This first video showcases the Mike Tyson documentary by James Toback called “Tyson”. We received the electronic press kit at my work, and all that was included in the press kit was the trailer for the documentary, and a couple short clips. We needed to turn that footage into a 2-ish minute story, so I was given the source footage, and asked to write copy (the voiceover) that would turn these 3 pieces of source material into an air-able story. Here’s the end result.

In this next example of my writing/editing work, I was asked to create a feature story that focused on the Marvel movies of the late 90′s and 2000′s. I also played the role of producer on this, as I coordinated with our assistant editors and asset manager to see what Marvel movies we had visuals for. Then, using that list, I researched the movies to give context to them in the story. Then I wrote the final script, and edited the final piece. Here’s how it turned out.

Finally, here’s an example of another piece that I produced/wrote/edited for a series we did at my work on the Oscars in 2009.
